Dry weather is some of the cause for the roads being rough
Wash boards can be caused by cars and trucks slowing down to fast and braking hard then speeding up when They start going again and the gravel is loose. Roughness can also be caused by over loaded trucks braking through the crust of the road top.
The right-of-way is 66 Ft. or 33 Ft. from the center of the road both ways.
All fences should be set 34 Ft. from the center of the road. This is to allow the road dept. to do ditch work when needed.
This is illegal and needs to be controlled by the operator of the land that the irrigation pivot is on. The operator or landowner can be fined.
No you need to contact the highway superintendent before you put a drive way or field approach in. This is so the highway dept. can determine if it is in a safe place or if it may need a culvert for drainage ( culvert will be at land owners expense. )
You must obtain a permit from the Highway Dept. then turn it in to the Superintendent , then the Superintendent will take it to the Commissioners meeting to have it approved. The commissioners meet on the First and Third Tuesdays of each month.
